In past few reviews that I did, I must admit that I have become very wary of products that either have the word “gold” in their names or actually have gold among the ingredients.

Part of my apprehensions about gold is the fear that this precious metal, like lead, may eventually have potentially bad side effects to health with continuous use.

There is also the fact that even a small amount of gold may jack up the prices of a product to outrageous limits.

Thankfully, this is not true for Eyelash Extensions Max2 Tonic Essence Gold Lash Grow Tonic Max, although the addition of “extensions” in its name may make you think at first of those artificial eyelashes that you apply with glue.

What is Max2 Tonic Conditioner?

matx tonic conditioner reviewMax2 Tonic Conditioner is a product that is being manufactured and has been tested in South Korea. Surprisingly, Max2 DOES NOT have gold or any chemical compounds.

Ingredients

This product is made entirely out of herbal extracts, which consist of the following: Licorice Extract, Peach Seed Extract, Sage Extract, Safflower Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Rubus, and Water.

Admittedly, I have tried a number of supposedly “all-natural” eyelash growth products with mixed results.

However, the clinical tests conducted on the product look very promising.

It has been found that over 90 percent of subjects have observed longer and thicker lashes, with new lash growth observed 3 weeks from the start of application.

The effectiveness of the product lies in its special formulation. The botanical extracts function to stimulate blood circulation to the hair follicles, thus increasing the flow of nutrients needed for hair growth.

The herbal extracts also aid in repairing thin, brittle and dry eyelashes and strengthening the lashes so that they are less prone to breakages and fallouts.

How To Use Max2 Tonic Essence Gold

How do you apply Max2 Tonic Essence Gold? Same as your favorite liquid eyeliner, apply to the roots of the lashes and eyebrows in the morning and before going to bed. To promote even spread of the product on the lashes, use an eyelash comb starting from the roots to the tips.

The biggest question that needs to be asked though is if the product works? Luckily, the product is cheap on Amazon (although there have been reports that it fetches a price of $30 on Ebay) so I decided to check it out for myself.

Like most of the herbal eyelash growth products that I’ve tried in the past, Max2 is slow acting. It was at the 4th week of use that I noticed a slight thickening in my eyelashes.

By the 6th week, it was only then that I observed new lashes growing in between the gaps.

eyelash productAt this time, my existing lashes have grown consistently longer and fuller. By Week 8, it was then that I observed the maximum changes, with my lashes more lush, longer and thicker, although still not as good as the combination chemical and herbal products that I have tried.

However, past the third month of use, I don’t see any more changes taking place in my eyelashes. In fact, my lashes have even reverted back to their usual state.

I could probably say that my eyelids must have already developed some sort of resistance for the product or Max2 loses its potency with prolonged use.

While it is cheap, Max2 would have probably earned a recommendation from me if it had shown staying power. Sad to say, this product is not advisable for people who want to use it for the long term.
