I am always on the lookout for eyelash growth products that have the words “all-natural” stamped on the label. Like many women today, I have grown exceptionally wary of cosmetics and other products that contain harsh chemicals.

What is LashGenesis

I’ve always had sensitive skin, so I can only assume that my eyes would also be the same. So when I came upon this eyelash growth product called LashGenesis while I was checking out Amazon, I naturally became curious, thanks to that tag “all-natural”.

It certainly looked promising enough. According to the manufacturer, LashGenesis can promote the growth of longer, darker, fuller and stronger eyelashes. Another plus for the product is that you can use makeup over it.

Ingredients

True, there were some natural ingredients, and these would include Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Soy Amino Acid, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil and Lupinus Albus Seed Extract.

But majority of the ingredients, including its so-called natural peptides, are all synthetic compounds.

LashGenesis Active Ingredients

Rounding up the list are ingredients with head-spinning names, such as

  • Glucosamine HCL,
  • Glycerin,
  • Palmitoyl Dipeptide-5 Diaminobutyloyl Hydroxythreonine & Palmitoyl Dipeptide-6 Diamonohydroxybutyrate,
  • Phenoxyethanol (&) Ethylhexylglycerin,
  • Butylene Glycol (&) Carbomer (&) Polysorbate-20 (&) Palmitoyl Oligopeptide (&) Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3,
  • Hydroxyethyl Cellulose,
  • Xylitylglucoside Anthyroxylitol Xylitol,
  • Alanine, Proline,
  • Glycine,
  • Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate,
  • Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopherol,
  • Panthenol, (&),
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-3,
  • Disodium EDTA,
  • Triethnolamine, and
  • Water.

These ingredients already raised a lot of alarm bells inside my head. Still, I did a little more digging, but I was only further dismayed to discover that no clinical studies were done on this product, so that I could not determine how soon I can expect to see changes in my eyelashes. It is also expensive at $29.

For the sake of doing an honest review, however, I decided to dig deep into my wallet in order to buy it. Using the product is similar to the regular eyeliner that you apply.

How to Use Lashgenesis

Just sweep it along the base of your eyelashes in the morning and evening. Just make sure that you let the product dry before putting on your makeup.

There is an additional instruction on caring for the brush. You have to rinse it under hot water and air dry before putting the wand back into the tube.

Since I have no gauge on how long to expect results, I decided to observe for eyelash changes on a daily basis.

I’ve had considerable success with Idol Lash, so I know what to expect in a good product.

On first application, to my relief, LashGenesis did not sting my eyes, prompting me to continue with my experiment. However, as the days passed, I could only help but feel disappointed.

Unlike Idol Lash wherein I saw changes small eyelashes growing along my eyelids during the first week of use, I did not see such results with LashGenesis. I did observe my lashes becoming thicker and fuller, but this was around the 13th or 14th day of use.

By this time, I still did not see any new lashes growing. It is only past the fourth week that I saw small eyelashes sprouting from my eyelids.

Given its price tag, I had high expectations with LashGenesis. So I feel really bummed that it did not make good on its hype. I’m still sticking with Idol Lash. Not only does it work, it’s also not as expensive.
