Because of the great demand of eyelash growth products among women – including some men – cosmetics companies have been churning out a variety products that promise the best results when it comes to lash growth. A relatively new product that you will probably be reading about on the Internet is Lash+Doctor.
What Is Novalash?
Novalash Lash+Doctor is being marketed as both an eyelash growth enhancer and conditioner.
Sadly, the manufacturer does not give any further information about the product, especially if any clinical trials have been done on its safety.
The only information that is provided about the product is its ingredients list, which consists of natural extracts and synthetic compounds.
Ingredients of Novalash Lash/Doctor
Among the natural ingredients are
- Panax Ginseng Root Extract,
- Arctium Majus Root Extract,
- Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, and
- Acer Saccharum (Maple Isolate).
On the other hand, the chemical compounds consist of
- Acetyl Tyrosine,
- PEG-12 Dimethicone,
- Calcium Panthotenate,
- Zinc Gluconate,
- Ornithine HCL,
- Glucosamine HCL,
- Butylene Glycol,
- PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,
- Olealonic Acid,
- Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1,
- Tocopheryl Acetate,
- Retinyl Palmitate,
- Ascorbyl Palmitate,
- Caprylyl Glycol,
- Glucamine, and
- Disodium EDTA.
Thankfully, there are no parabens or prostaglandins in Lash+Doctor. These compounds are approved to be safe by the FDA.
It is lamentable that the manufacturer does not give even an estimate on how long the user can expect results.
How To Use Novalash
The instructions for using this product are the same as with liquid eyeliner, you simply apply it to the base of your eyelashes along your eyelids.
No other safety instructions are given, so if you manage to get the solution into your eyes, it is best to rinse it out immediately.
The few reviews of Novalash Lash+Doctor revealed improvements in lash length, strength and thickness within 3 weeks of use of the product.
There have been no reports of any side effects, such as irritation, eyelid discoloration or changes in eye color. From this alone, you can already assume that the product is safe to use.
However, women who have tried out the product are unanimous in their complaints with regards to how Lash+Doctor is packaged.
Unlike other eyelash growth products that come with an applicator or a specially designed mascara wound, the tube that Lash+Doctor comes in is the applicator itself.
Women have complained that the paddle-shaped applicator tip is very difficult to use. While it is convenient for spreading the solution on your eyebrows, it is a constant struggle to apply it to the eyelashes.
The large paddle leaves globs of solution on the lashes which may enter the eyes. In others, the solution ended up dripping on their cheeks.
Because of this, a lot of women have resorted to putting drops of the solution on a separate mascara wand or just use their fingers.
