Because of the overwhelming demand for eyelash growth products, cosmetics companies have been scrambling to come up with THE product that will meet every woman’s eyelash needs. Unfortunately, however, not every product will be able to produce satisfactory results.

Still, this does not stop the manufacturers from churning out these products, in the hope that a lady would experience positive results and recommend it to their friends and associates.

One such product that is looking for your patronage and your hard-earned dollars is Peter Thomas Roth (PTR) Lash Complex.

What is Peter Thomas Roth (TPR) Lash Complex?

PTR Lash Complex is primarily being marketed as an eyelash growth enhancer. Unlike other products, it does not offer promises of eyelash conditioning. So, if the main problem that you have with your lashes is that they grow very short, then you might want to consider PTR Lash Complex.

PTR Ingredients

Eyelash growth is made possible through the interaction of herbal extracts and chemical compounds. The ingredients list of PTR Lash Complex reads as follows: Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Leuconostoc/Radish Rooth Ferment Filtrate, Panthenol (PRO Vitamin B5), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Sodium Hyaluronate, Phospholipids, Crosspolymer, C12-15 Alkyl Benzonate, Cyclodextrin, 17-Phenyl, Triethanolamine, Alcohol, and Trinor PEG2-SA. There are no carcinogenic parabens in the product.

As harmless as the ingredients list may seem, there is one ingredient in particular that you should take note of, and that is Trinor PEG2-SA. Trinor is a prostaglandin derivative. Like other prostaglandin compounds, it is known to cause discoloration of the skin and changes in the color of the iris. In fact, the manufacturer warns against continued use of PTR Lash Complex, only recommending that it should be applied for up to 8 weeks.

How To Use PTR Lash Complex?

Because of the possible strength of the formula, the manufacturer advises once daily application of PTR Lash Complex. Clean your face and eyes of dirt and makeup with soap and water. Make sure that you remove all traces of eye makeup remover with water and wait for your lashes to dry.

Simply apply a very spare amount as you would liquid eyeliner by drawing a thin line on the roots of the upper lashes ONLY. Do not apply it to the lower lashes or use it more than once a day.

Women who have tried out PTR Lash Complex experienced the promised eyelash growth within 8 weeks. But, there is the persistent concern about the Trinor PEG2-SA content, although there have been no reports of side effects in the reviews that have been posted on the web. It can only be assumed that the women who have used the product followed the manufacturer’s instructions to the letter.

Downside of PTR Lash Complex

A minus for PTR Lash Complex is its price of $87, definitely far too expensive for the average cosmetics user. In fact, it is already just as expensive as another prostaglandin-containing product, namely the only prescription eyelash growth product Latisse.

The presence of Trinor PEG2-SA in PTR Lash Complex raises more doubts about the safety of the product, which override its benefits. If you don’t want to experience any side effects, it is probably best to skip PTR Lash Complex and buy a much cheaper and safer product.
